5G-A Lights Up the Capital Launch Ceremony

In the "China Mobile's First 100 5G-A Commercial Pioneer Cities" project, Beijing Mobile has been actively advancing the deployment of 5G-A networks and conducting 5G-A commercial service trials. They are building a high-speed, ubiquitous, and intelligent new 5G-A network. Through the "5G-A Lights Up the Capital" initiative, they are gradually enhancing 5G-A capabilities, starting from 18 super-hotspots, expanding to major roads like the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Ring Roads, and achieving widespread coverage within the 6th Ring Road and suburban counties. Huawei has supported Beijing Mobile in establishing showcase networks at key locations such as Capital Airport, Chang'an Avenue, and University Town, and has been instrumental in creating the first 5G-A vehicle networking private network in Yizhuang, incubating key 5G-A capabilities such as uplink enhancement and deterministic experiences.

Additionally, in the new era of experience-driven business, Huawei and Beijing Mobile are exploring new models like "Scenario Packages" and "Venue Packages" to deliver differentiated and personalized experiences for Beijing residents. These models use end-to-end service assurance to accurately identify high-value users, critical services, and specific scenarios. For example, the "Venue Package" can ensure a downlink speed of 4Mbps and an uplink speed of 2Mbps during major events at sports venues, allowing fans to share every exciting moment of the match in real-time while enjoying the game.

Furthermore, Huawei has helped Beijing Mobile achieve the world's largest-scale intelligent base station deployment, resulting in a 3.64% increase in HD video for short videos and a 16.29% improvement in HD live streaming. While enhancing user experience, AI technology has been used to train optimal energy efficiency models based on service performance and base station energy consumption, achieving a 10% reduction in energy consumption in real-world network scenarios, contributing to green and low-carbon operations.

Li Qiang, General Manager of Beijing Mobile, stated that they will continue to promote the construction of new information infrastructure represented by 5G-A and continuously optimize new information service systems such as 5G-A innovative applications. This will provide strong support for Beijing to become a global digital economy benchmark city and offer capital residents an unprecedented intelligent living experience, accelerating the high-quality development of the capital's economy.

Huawei's Vice President and President of the Wireless Network Product Line, Cao Ming, Huawei China Vice President and General Manager of the China Mobile System Department, Sun Baocheng, Huawei Beijing General Manager, Zhang Dongya, and Huawei Wireless Network Product Line Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, Chen Chuanfei, were invited to attend the event. They expressed their anticipation of deeper collaboration with Beijing Mobile and industry partners. With 5G-A technology as the helm, they aim to maximize the value of multi-band and large-bandwidth spectrum, leveraging new network capabilities to drive industry upgrades and incubate more innovative applications.
