[soft harmonic synthesizer plays] [drumbeat slowly builds to a crescendo]
The video is an abstract depiction of a modern house forming in the soft-cornered circle design of an ecobee Smart Sensor. Stone bottles which sit sideways on a table morph into the sensor itself on a background of varying shades of dark blue. Nature is included in the form of lush vines as a room comes together with soft orange curtains and pillows and a dark blue davenport. The result is a dark blue bedroom with a stone staircase and a midnight blue davenport beside a white bed. The floor has a combination of white marble and a water feature. The Smart Sensor hovers over a marble table in the center of the room.
[three soft melodic chimes]
‘ecobee’ is shown on the screen in white on a midnight blue background.

Highly integrated time-of-flight ranging/distance sensor with a 1M bit CAN (Controller Area Network) interface. Designed with FRC and the RoboRio in mind, the SEN-36005 includes a LabView VI to rapidly integrate it into your design. The CAN interface also allows this sensor to be quickly added to existing CAN buses in test, industrial and automotive applications as well.
The SEN-36005 is based on the state of the art ST VL53L1X Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. It utilizes an invisible class 1 laser to measure absolute distance regardless of the target color or reflectance. The maximum sample rate and ranging distance is dependent on ambient lighting conditions (1.4 meters in short mode, 4 meters in long mode).

RoboBees (Team 836) Made excellent use of the TOF sensor during the 2019 season to help remove hatch panels. The sensor is used to measure distance to the hatch and automatically decelerate the robot.
